The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) administers the Australian census once every 5 years. The most recent one, taken in 2011 will have its initial release at the end of June 2012. Clear Blue Water will be offering data and analytics solutions based on this census soon.
The Census of Population and Housing is the largest statistical operation undertaken by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). It aims to accurately measure the number of people in Australia on Census Night, their key characteristics, and the dwellings in which they live. The scope of the Census is all people in Australia on Census Night, other than foreign diplomats and their families. Visitors to Australia are counted regardless of how long they have been in the country or how long they plan to stay.
The initial release of the core demographic data will occur on the 21st of June 2012 with further releases scheduled for the end of 2012 and early in 2013 which include more detailed analysis.
Clear Blue Water will begin analysis on this rich new dataset in early July with a view to using it for data access and analytics projects for our clients.
